Any Short Record Associated with Necklaces
Jewelry is worn by millions of people in hundreds of countries across the globe. It is one of the few things to which almost all cultures take part in: adornment. Men and woman, children and older fellows – it is worn by all. Most of it is worn because it is either used as a form of monetary value, and possibly worn as a place to keep it, to keep pieces of clothing together, to symbolize anything from a club to a status, to act as a magical enchantment such as an amulet, or as a creative, artistic display. It is crafted in endless textures, colors, forms, and complexities.
A large majority of it is purchased instead of created, however, in many countries it has been weaved from the stems of various plants and flowers. The popular tiara of daisies is a good example of this. This is the cheapest form of jewelry, requiring nothing but a plant with a sturdy branch or stem, rather than potentially thousands of dollars.
A regular tiara or crown, fashioned out of metals and precious gems, is another piece of head adornment. In the past, they were largely used by royalty to convey their status and wealth. In more present times, they are rarely worn unless to a highly sophisticated event or as part of a costume. The amount of rank associated with a tiara is what extremely limits its accepting use by the general public.
Earrings are a typical example of something worn to complement a headpiece. Requiring that the wearer pierce through an area of body tissue, it is not uncommon for an individual to remain unpierced, foregoing the chance to wear earrings. Clip-on earrings have been designed for this reason. Yet for those who can tolerate the level of pain, there are a myriad of options available. The most common areas to piece include earlobes, other areas of the ear, multiple sections of the nose, lips, and eyebrows, and bellybuttons. A few extremists have pierced areas of the genitals.
Along with a tiara, one might also wear earrings, which usually encompass some form of material hanging from a hole in the earlobes. The earlobes are the most common areas to be pierced, but other areas have been as well, including: the bellybutton, areas of the eyebrows, ears, or nose, the lips, and even the genitals, in some cases. The most popularly voiced reason for refraining from getting ears pierced is not being able to cope with the pain of the puncture.
Casual necklaces are usually cheaper and worn daily, consisting of one or a few main pendant type features. Fancier necklaces tend to be made of expensive materials and jewels, or expensive seeming ones. Cubic zirconia is a popular form of fake jewelry made to resemble expensive gems such as diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, and more.
Bracelets can be thought of necklaces for the wrist. Due to the changing nature of the viewing angle of the wrist, bracelets will typically not have a single point of interest, like a necklace. They usually feature a repeating pattern instead. They are often worn in accompaniment of necklaces or earrings. Like the two, they can be very expensive depending on the materials.
Jewelry often inspires many and plays an important role in the social dimensions of the world. Many third world countries use it in rituals and ceremonies, and first world countries do as well: weddings and elaborate dinners. No matter the intended use or wearer, every piece has the potential to shock and awe.
